The “Chemathon” talented undergraduate student research competition will be conducted for male/female students all around Gulf countries. The chemistry department at KFUPM & SAICSC Society jointly organized the Chemathon as a part of the technical program of the conference GCA-2022
2nd Round
The production of clean energy has a tremendous positive impact on our environment. An innovative technological approach creates an opportunity to develop a clean, sustainable environment. In this track, you will present clean energy solutions and technologies to respond to the environmental challenges of the 21st Century.
A circular economy refers to a system that supports cost-effective growth, social security, and sustainability. Although the application of circular economies in a variety of sectors gives rise to many diverse challenges, it also introduces abundant opportunities for design and innovation
Designing smart, intelligent materials to address the growing problems constitutes one of the most significant challenges of the 21st Century. The proposed project should address some industrial challenges, improve efficiency, save resources, and much more.
Reduction in CO2 can reduce global warming; Utilization of CO2 into valuable chemicals and Fuel. The utilization of CO2 that makes economically valuable products and innovative approaches to many diverse challenges introduces abundant opportunities for innovation
The competition consists of two rounds of selection; the first round will be conducted on October 06 of 2022, at KFUPM. During Round One, student team present for 10 min oral and a poster in a poster session. Judges will review all team projects and fill out a scoring sheet on each to select 10 best teams and all of them receive USD 800 and promoted to the second round.
The team will deliver a 10 min presentation followed by Q&A at GCA-2022 conference on November 16th November 2022, at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain. The top three winners are awarded USD 5000, and the remaining teams will receive the certificate of participation.
Any undergraduate students or recent graduate (within 2-year after graduation) and had not joined any graduate program.
Chemathon teams can work on any research topic related to the following themes and offer technical solutions to real-world problems.

The teams that work (intellectual property) on the projects own the technologies. If you are worried about people stealing your idea, this might not be the right place to unveil it.

After registration, a shortlist of teams will be conducted to submit their report and presentation.

Yes, all members in the team should have affiliation with an academic department.
The standard manuscript style should be followed (font: Times New Roman, font size: 12, double spaced, Introduction maximum 1000 words).
